When a child begins his/her
journey with cancer, the child is given a necklace with his/her name
on it. As the child undergoes difficult treatments, such as
chemotherapy, radiation, or other procedures, he/she receives special
beads to commemorate these events.
The necklaces
document the child's
cancer treatment and become precious keepsakes that are viewed as
medals or badges of courage. It is
impossible to describe the symbolic nature and power of the Bravery
Hearts Bead program. |
