A diagnosis of childhood cancer is devastating to the entire family.
Overnight, normal lives are disrupted. Childhood cancer is treated
aggressively, often with a combination of chemotherapy, radiation, and
surgery, and frequent hospital stays and procedures become the norm.
Additionally, parents of children with cancer are often young, have
limited resources, and have other children to care for. Many times,
one parent needs to give up a job in order to care for their child.
Candlelighters of Michigan strives to develop programs and service to
help minimize the impact of childhood cancer.
